MIKE DISSES MIKE FOR MIKE...GOT THAT?

Thank God the Kids got Mike Edelman to do the talking for him! I mean didja' catch Noisemakers...I mean Newsmakers this morning. It was like a Spano Infomercial! Ya' gotta love Newsmakers.  You've got that guy Lawrence Otis somethin' or the other representing the Democrats and then you've Mike Edelman representing the Spanos..which come to think of it is the same thing.  Anyhow, it was great...and him a lawyer too...saying that complaining about legal documents being stolen is "silly". WOWSWER! The high priced lawyers get $400 an hour for that kind of defense work and theres ol' Edelman doin' it for free! Guess he doesn't need to work now that his partners brought home that big fat 9/11 settlement.

Holy Moly! Did you get a load of NEWS12 tonight. The Kid was getting such a hard time. You'd think it was the first time someone in Yonkers stole nominating petitions. I mean really! So "Cousin" Julio stole a few hundred petitions and roughed up a Ramondelli volunteer...I mean hey welcome to Yonkers already!

Thought the Kid did good though...stayed away from the camera "unavailable for comment"...I love that...then said "Cousin" Julio wasn't on his list of campaign workers...so far so good...but the Kid forgot to check his Facebook friends...or Facebook photos.  Good shot though don't you think?  "Cousin" Julio, Lenny Spano, Nicky Spano, Vinny Spano... man...nice family but not too original with the names are they?

BUDGETS PASSED... OFF TO THE BEACH!

Well the kids done for the summer...the budgets been passed, the taxes have been raised and only four months late...maybe I can get some much deserved rest now...what'd that old song say?..."See you in September".

Lemme tell you though I'm gonna miss the stipend...I mean it was nice picking up that extra pay every day for four months just for doing nothing! Oh sure, there was the occasional press release to be transmitted, after all the kid still needs to take credit for the pork he hands out...I mean what's $500 to the little league if you can't brag about it...but mostly, since April, its just been a lot of sitting around, lunch at the Ft. Orange Club, drinks at the bar in the Crowne Plaza. Not a bad gig. Then, just raise taxes $1.2 billion, fudge some revenue projections, borrow from the State Pension Fund to pay the State Pension Fund (that one was sweet) and get the hell outta Dodge!

I hope the kids headed out to Dad's place in the Hamptons for a few weeks...Yonkers is too hot in August

Welcome to my blog.  I'm Assemblyman Mike Spano's fax machine and I've started this blog in order to set the record straight. Recently, it was brought to my attention that Mike has been blaming me for his mistakes.  Case in point: Mike was recently called out by former Mayor Ed Koch for refusing to sign Koch's reform platform for changing New York government. In fact, Mayor Koch called Mike's opponent, Mike Ramondelli, a "HERO OF REFORM" because he had pledged to clean up the mess in Albany.  Well when the kid found out what Koch said, know what he did?  He blamed me, claiming he had sent Koch his pledge but the FAX machine wasn't working!!!! (http://www.wgrz.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=80149) Can you believe that? After I give the kid nearly twenty years of service in Albany and Yonkers that's the thanks I get. Now look, I know I'm not the first friend the Spanos have thrown under the bus, but c'mon already. I've been there for Mike day and night long past warranty. Whether he was pretending to be a Republican or a Democrat it didn't matter.  I was there to transmit whatever Joe Bruno, Shelly Silver or even big brother Nick told him to say! Tax hikes, teacher layoffs, lobbying for developers.  Whatever Mike needed done I was blinking ready...no, seriously...I really do blink...and after all that he tries to blame me because he wouldn't sign a pledge to clean up Albany...SHEEESH!

Anyhow, enough is enough! From now on I'm not going to be just another outdated office product getting blamed for the kid's mistakes.  I have a mind of my own...actually, that's not true, I have a small memory, copier capability and a phone line...but, actually, no mind.  But either way,  from now on I'll be using this space to let you know what's really going on in Albany and Yonkers...because sure a lot of things in Albany are broken and a lot of things in Albany have been around much to long...but not me...I'm just getting started... and now I have a voice!
